Sagara carried out several projects to bring life to the aimless & purposeless people who affected by the Tsunami in this region. Several relief measures were carried out on a small scale. Counseling was given to the children who had lost their parents, their homes to come out of the pain that they had undergone. The counseling sessions were carried out by the Buddhist monks in the region together with the Youth.

The aid which included dry rations, clothes, books were provided by the ‘Maharagama Vajiragnana Dharmayathanaya’. The relief measures provided by Sagara were not merely vast, but were provided with the intention of being a friend to his fellow citizens. They comforted children throughout the day. Art therapy  helped these children in expressing the trauma they had experienced with the tsunami. Counseling sessions are being conducted at school level on a larger scale discussing family issues, economic problems and career guidance. Scholarships were also awarded to children who lost their parents.

Sagara managed to find Funding amounting to 75,000LKR to carry out his projects by selling stickers to school students who attended private tuition classes. The tutors of these private classes also provided enormous support to this worthy cause.
