A credit and inspiration to many Sri Lankans, Sunil Wijewardene from Kundasale has been a technical inventor for many products including a toothbrush for the disabled as well as a device to control water flow better and has won awards in international competitions for his inventions in 2000 and 2006.

A tireless social worker in the underprivileged and far-flung reaches of Sri Lanka, Sunethra Weerasinghe from Kotte has worked tirelessly to help restore tanks and temples in many villages around Sri Lanka as well as help establish temples in villages where there were none. In addition, she has begun many programs to assist the elders of these areas.
