‘Mother Sri Lanka’ – a journey, a labour of love, inspired by the need to bring back honour to our beautiful country- Sri Lanka; the land of our birth, the land of our ancestors, the land where the future of our children and theirs can be brighter – our pride and joy.
Today as we look towards a bright future, we celebrate and reminisce on the birth of the ‘Mother Sri Lanka’ programme. When we took our first steps the country was still covered in a pall; a shadow of death lurking and the road ahead for our mission looked rough and full of obstacles. Undaunted we took the first steps with hope in our hearts and strength in our conviction that our vision ‘To see the 20 million people of this land hold their heads high in pride as Sri Lankans believing in themselves and their ability to be united under one flag, as one nation, as one people who love this our country – Sri Lanka’
