Mother Sri Lanka – Celebrate Freedom – Interfaith Music Festival 2012

The Mother Sri Lanka Trust together with the Art of Living Foundation have organised “Celebrate Freedom” – Sri Lanka’s first ever Inter-faith Music Festival. “Celebrate Freedom” aims to bring together individuals of all faiths and cultural backgrounds in a spirit of celebration. The festival will involve over 2000 students from all provinces, representing all faiths - Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity and Islam. They will be joined by 3000 adults and youth to sing in harmony in an effort to promote goodwill among all ethnic groups, as well as to inculcate values of tolerance and co-existence within communities. A highlight of the evening will be the performance of 500 drummers, over 50 guitarists and 200 dancers who will also perform at what is billed to be a first in Asia. Leading personalities from the sporting world as well as the
entertainment industry are also expected to attend.

“Celebrate Freedom” will take place at 6.00pm on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium. At this critical juncture, the efforts of all citizens are required in order for the country’s extraordinary potential to be realised.
